What type of LED lenses do you use?
We use 90-degree lenses to allow for a more even treatment at 4-6" while still delivering 100 mW/cm^2 right in front of the light panel. Dr. Michael Hamblin, who serves on our advisory board, has published over 300 studies in the field of photobiomodulation as a researcher at Harvard University and is widely respected as one of the leading experts in photomedicine. He believes that 100 mW/cm^2 is the upper limit to the rate at which our bodies can harness light energy. So, while more narrow lenses (eg. 30-degrees) would deliver higher irradiance, this could lead to wasted energy and the uneven treatment of tissue.
